What do we do

We are one of the most important producers of frozen potato products for private labels in the world. We work very closely with our customers in order to achieve this. We would like to understand their needs perfectly and respond appropriately. We strive for the highest customer satisfaction by working in a flexible, innovative and customer-oriented way.

The family business guarantees short and open communication lines, quick decisions and compliance with agreements concluded. We are strongly export-oriented and distribute our products to more than 120 countries worldwide. Our customers can be categorized in mainly 4 segments: foodservice, retail, food industry and restaurant chains.

Who are we

Clarebout originated from the activities of the original potato company of the Clarebout family. This company was active in the sorting and trading of fresh potatoes. The main activity of the family business was changed in 1988 to the processing of these fresh potatoes into various frozen potato products.

We have 2 ultramodern production units and various potato storage facilities in Belgium. The main office and a first production unit are located in Nieuwkerke; a 2nd production unit is located in Waasten. The storage facilities are, amongst others, located in Frameries, Komen, Diksmuide, etc.

Quality

The entire production process – from the supply of the potatoes to the departure of the finished products from our production units – is subject to the strictest quality standards. Based on a well-developed traceability system, all information for all primary raw materials (potatoes, oil, foil, etc.) can be tracked from supplier to customer. Moreover, for each packaged product it can be verified which primary raw materials were used, as well as when and how it was produced.

Our own quality service is constantly busy in order to guarantee the best quality of our products. The quality team conducts a daily tour of the production sites to closely monitor everything and give advice, where necessary, and controls the production in the various phases of the production process.

The Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC) regularly carries out inspections at companies to guarantee food safety. As a food company, we are therefore constantly monitored and we regularly receive control visitations from this agency.

Cultivators

Our cultivators are the first link in the supply chain. After all, they provide the raw material that we work with: potatoes. Together with them, we look at how we can cultivate the best potatoes at market conditions. We assist them with advice, based on our own experiences and based on results and insights that we obtain from the test fields where we try out various potato varieties and cultivation methods.

Clarebout is one of the largest private label players worldwide with regards to frozen fries. We have extensive expertise and more than 30 years of experience in supervising companies from the retail, catering and food industries in the development of a unique brand identity (product specifications, product positioning and much more).

Fully customized to the customer’s requirements

A fry is not just any old fry to us. All our products are developed, produced, packaged and stored fully customized to our customers’ needs. Long fries, curled fries, fries covered with herbs, or other special coatings? The possibilities are endless. We already have more than 200 product types that vary in terms of taste, colour, size, baking time, coating and shape, amongst others. Our R&D department is extremely important in order to be able to offer even more added value. Experiments and testing are conducted every day to further improve the quality of our products and to develop new creations.

We can also offer you customized solutions for export. Our products are exported to more than 120 countries worldwide. We have one of the most efficient and flexible logistic systems that enable customers to come and collect their products at any time of the day and get back on the road within the hour.
