Our growers
We work with 550 Citrus growers, 60 Potato growers, and 20 Pomegranate growers as part of Sedigep, a non-profit co-operative established in 1964 to treat, pack, and market agricultural products. Most of our Citrus growers have small orchards of 80-100 tons, while a minority of larger growers can produce 1,300-1,500 tons each. We export 14,000 tons of Citrus yearly. The larger Potato growers can produce 1,100-1,300 tons each, while smaller growers supply 100-150 tons. We evaluate growers yearly based on quality and quantity. Our Pomegranate team is developing with a current production of 400 tons, and we aim to increase Potato production to 9,000-11,000 tons.

Citrus Fruits
Tango
TANGO is a patented tangerine produced after years of research in Agricultural Science Centers in Europe and America. Eurosemillas S.A has exclusive global rights for production and trade until 2044, while SEDIGEP holds the Cypriot rights. It is a late variety, seedless, easy to peel, and has a sweet and juicy taste. It is mainly produced in the Northern Hemisphere and its name comes from Tangerine and Gold. Sedigep has exclusive rights for production and trade in Cyprus.
Mandora
Cyprus specializes in soft citrus, with a focus on the Mandora and Nova varieties, popular in the global market for their easy-to-peel skin. Mandora is a hybrid of mandarin and orange, originating from Jamaica. Cyprus provides ideal soil and climate conditions for Mandora to grow, resulting in high-quality medium-sized fruit with deep orange color, tender and juicy pulp, and a sweet, balanced flavor with a rich, strong aroma. The rind is leathery, reddish-orange in color, and easy to peel.
Lemons
Cyprus has a rich history of lemon cultivation, and is well-known for its juicy, thin-skinned lemons. The most commonly planted variety is Lapithkiotiki, named after the village of Lapithos, which is similar to the Eureka variety in size, texture and quality. The Cyprus Lemon is highly regarded for its aroma, taste, and high juice and acid content, and is typically harvested from October to February with a long shelf life when properly stored.
Grapefruit
Cypriot grapefruit is known for its high juice and sugar content due to the ideal growing conditions on the island. Grapefruit comes in many varieties, distinguishable by color: White, Pink, and Red. Marsh Seedless is the most popular variety worldwide with a light yellow, smooth, and mildly aromatic peel. Ruby is virtually identical to Marsh, but with reddish color and few seeds. Star Ruby has a yellow peel with a red blush, red pulp, and red juice when squeezed. It has a thin rind, high juice content, and is almost always seedless.
Oranges
Cypriots produce high-quality oranges, including Valencia, Navel, and Cyprus Oval Orange. Valencia is great for juice with a thin skin, orange flesh, and over 60% juice content. Navel oranges are seedless with a small secondary fruit, large size, and sweet flavor. Cyprus Oval has a thick and easy-to-peel rind, a rich and sweet flavor, and a distinctive aroma.
Potatoes
Potatoes
Cyprus’ warm, dry summers and mild winters create ideal conditions for producing high-quality potatoes. We plant 80% of our potatoes according to pre-agreed programs and customer needs, allowing us to experiment with new varieties and maintain top-notch quality. Our potatoes are versatile and suitable for various cooking types, from floury/fluffy roasters to smooth mashed or boiled options.
Pomegranate
Pomegranate
Pomegranates are a warm-weather crop that thrive in tropical or sub-temperate regions like Cyprus. While hardy, they require temperatures above 20°F and have a seasonal growth pattern with a dormant period during mild winters. Their tangy and refreshing juice is becoming increasingly popular as more people discover the fruit’s beneficial properties.
