About Essa company

Essa company was founded in 1990 as a trading company dealing with food .Since establishment the company focused its activities on field of canned food, mainly canned fruit, vegetable and fish. The company established business activities with foreign associate that helped to expand – ESSA has become an exclusive agency for the Czech Republic of Austrian company Almi, dealing with various spices and technologies for meat industry. This partnership has been separated to division of ESSA company, that is providing by own technologists a service to meat industry customers. During the next years ESSA company has been significiantly expanding activities on canned food, so today imports the products from more than 17 countries from all around the world, either under its own ESSA brand or under customers’ private brands.

The company currently supplies its customers from 2 warehouses, one in the Ceske Budejovice, second one in Dolni Ujezd u Litomyšle, with its trucks from own transportation division EssaTrans. EssaTrans operates in the Czech Republic and Europe with nearly 16 trucks

In year 2004 was the acquisition of canning factory NOVA, a.s. established, dealing with production of sterilized vegetable and stewed fruits in glass jars, marmalades, jams, fruit fillings for bakeries, syrups, mustards and ketchups, pickles, garlic paste and packaging of rice, pulses, spices, potato program and dried fruits.

Nowadays the companies under ESSA Group develop business activities not only within the Czech Republic, where act as an esteemed supplier of the most important food chains and private wholesalers, bakeries, gourmet shops but also enlarge the trade activities abroad. Therefore products under ESSA brand can be also found in Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Nova a.s.

The company NOVA is a producer of sterilised fruit & vegetable products in different forms – pickles, compotes, jams, fillings for bakers, syrups, mustard, ketchup, tomato paste etc. The company also runs a production line for packing of dry food – rice, pulses, spices, dried fruits and nuts and convenience mixtures. The company produces special semi-processed food product for further use in food industry too.

Production is ISO 9001:2009 and HACCP certified. The company policy is strongly customer focused. Among most important customers are especially bakeries, various delicatessen producers and HORECA sector customers. The company is always open to discuss special needs and wishes of its customers (ingredients, type of packing etc.). Company NOVA belongs to company ESSA which also ensures distrubution of all NOVA products.
