The canning factory was founded in Rimavská Sobota in 1902. We create an assortment of our sweet products in various consumer packagings so that our consumers’ needs are best fulfilled.

About us

RISO – R, s.r.o. was established in 2005 and it is continuing the tradition of a canning factory in Rimavská Sobota, which was established in 1902.
Today, it operates as a family company with a two-generation family representation in top management. A responsible management approach, a simple organizational structure and a stable team of experienced and qualified employees contribute to the long-term competitiveness and viability of the company.

Nowadays RISO – R, s.r.o. produces jams, damson cheese and fruit spreads and it is the only producer of such products in Slovakia.

The products are manufactured in various consumer packagings to best meet the requirements of all customers. Besides processing traditional types of fruits it also processes less known ones to provide the market with some original products.

Consumers can find the products of RISO – R, s.r.o. in most local retail chains. Industrial customers will appreciate our jams, damson cheese and fruit spreads as a high quality material for further processing.

The company has HACCP system for compliance with good manufacturing practice. Since 2017, it has a valid IFS certificate SK 17/2614, version 6.1, November 2017. The certificate is recertified by the SGS certification company on an annual basis.

High quality jams obtained by cooking one type of fresh fruit contain not-fully-cooked fruits or their parts. Thanks to their excellent taste, they have become an irreplaceable part of everyday dining in every household. They are also increasingly in demand in their low-energy form.

Extra jams

Following the tradition of several family recipes, RISO has successfully introduced extra jams to the market, which are made from less common fruit types. Products made from a high content of rose hips, cornelian cherries, cranberries, oranges and also black currants, were not common in every family but thanks to their outstanding flavour, quality and also health benefits, they have persuaded many customers. They are mostly made from frozen fruit and prepared by slow cooking in vacuum. The products are mainly intended for direct consumption.

Exquisite V.G.J jams

Abbreviation V.G.J. means Very Good Jam. The company has also enlisted new kinds of jams for its most demanding customers. They are made with high fruit content, without the addition of beet sugar.
Due to its luxurious packaging and appetizing content, they are made for our most demanding customers. Our V.G.J. jams are also a suitable gift for your VIP business partners.

Cranberry jam

With a high content of vitamin C and provitamin A, they are not just very tasty, but also very healthy fruits. Flavonoids, that cranberries reduce the formation of blood clots, support the cardiovascular system and also act to prevent cancer and urinary tract infections.

Rosehip jam

Its fruits are rich in vitamin C, B1, B, E, K, P and H. By its consumption it adds necessary minerals to the body such as iron, natrium, magnesium and phosphorus. It boosts the immune system, acts diuretic and cleanses the blood. It acts as a cholesterol-lowering agent and prevents atherosclerosis.

Cornelian cherry jam

Cornelian cherries contain organic acids, carotenoids, pectin, fenolkarbol acids, catechins, antokyans and a lot of vitamin C. Along with delicate flavour of jams scientists have also found healing use against intestinal problems and fever.

Buckthorn jam

Blueberry jam

Fruit spreads

They are prepared from fresh fruit by gentle sieving and thickening for the right consistency. All of the fruit spreads can be used for direct consumption or as a semi-finished product for further making of various types of cakes and pastries.

Damson cheese

Traditional product of almost all households of our country. In the past, damson cheese was almost any product made from fruit and sugar cooked at home. Today due to legislative conditions, the “damson cheese” name is used only for plum jam. RISO produces it in different packaging for various uses: for direct consumption and also for further processing such as baking and cooking.
